The Board of Education authorizes the use of electronic surveillance monitoring devices in school buildings and on school grounds. Therefore, all school buildings and grounds within this school district may be monitored using such devices in accordance with Board Policy. (MPBOE Policy 7441)
Some Midland Park students recently participated in the PARCC field tests, joining students in fourteen states and the District of Columbia. This process provided a valuable opportunity to educators and students to assess PARCC test readiness prior to the onset of the operational tests next year. Click the link to read the message.
At the March 25th Board of Education meeting, Mr. Bill Sullivan announced the names of this year’s inductees into the Education Hall of Fame: Mrs. Joan Musci, retired Director of Special Services and Mrs. Arlene Seiders, retired English teacher in the high school. The induction will take place at a Board meeting in June – details to follow.
As per the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act (ABR) (P.L., 2010, c122), the Midland Park Public Schools has posted its Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act grades to the school district’s HIB webpage, and to each individual school’s webpage. In order to foster safe and positive learning conditions for students, the school and district grades are part of an integrated process for reinforcing and strengthening a school’s climate and culture through prevention and intervention efforts targeted toward harassment, intimidation and bullying. The Midland Park Board of Education approved the 2014-2015 district calendar (click the link above for a copy), using a new month-by-month format. Please note this calendar includes three emergency closing days and identifies which days will be used as make-up days should they be required.
