Lead Testing Results

 Dear Midland Park Parents/Guardians,

As part of our ongoing effort to keep the health and well-being of our students and staff a top priority, the district has recently completed lead testing in all of the drinking water outlets in each of its schools.  This testing, or plumbing profile, was completed in accord with New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) regulations.

Of the 72 water samples obtained through this districtwide profile, only one outlet tested above the lead action level established by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for lead in drinking water (15ug/1 [ppb]).  The table below identifies the drinking water outlet that tested above the 15ug/1 for lead; the actual lead level in that outlet; and the remedial actions immediately taken by the district to reduce the levels of lead in that location:

  1. Sign placed indicating the outlet is to be used for “Handwashing Only.”
  2. Replacement of fixture and all water lines leading to the fixture.
  3. Retesting.(Retesting results are listed below)
