Instructor:  Becky Shields

A co-ed course taught Tae Bo® style, of cardiovascular martial arts moves. A fun way to improve strength and balance while toning your muscles and burning fat. Great therapy for the mind and body! A no contact course. Participants will need: mat, athletic shoes.

 

VINYASA YOGA BEGINNER –WINTER                                  FEE: $90 (Sr. $85)

Enjoy a slow, flowing yoga class, exploring fundamentals of alignment as we open and stretch the hips and shoulders.  Stretch and strengthen the spine in a fun and safe way using breath awareness techniques, known as pranayama.  Build strength and flexibility in a fun and safe way, where we gather our energy to cultivate healing, strength, and inner peace. Start where you are; all levels welcome.  Participants will need: mat, water.

 

GUITAR I – BEG. ADULT              -WINTER                             FEE: $85 (Sr. $80)

Now optimized for Zoom… Get a taste of the Guitar and find out if it’s for you!  Guitar and music in general have been extremely popular pastimes for while we’re all stuck at home.  In this shortened winter term, learn what Guitar is all about, which is especially, having a good time…  We’ll start on technique, scales, chords, melodies, and songs- We promise to teach you as many real songs as possible!  This class is a great introduction for students who might then proceed to the next level of interest.  We will get your hands picking, strumming, and fretting.  Electric or acoustic guitar is ok (no amplifier required).  Materials:  Getting hold of a guitar to use is not a big commitment or expense.  Use a guitar you already own, a rental, or we recommend First Act guitars (available online) as an inexpensive solution (starting around $35-40).  Ages 13 and up.

 

HYPNOSIS FOR WEIGHT LOSS - WINTER                                           FEE: $55

Tuesday, Jan. 12-Jan. 19 (7:00-8:30 p.m.) 2 sessions

Instructor:  Lindsey Sass

Learn the basics of meditation and mindfulness and how they can be used as a way to, not only de-stress and relax, but to completely transform your relationship to yourself and your life - especially the difficult and painful aspects. Mark will present these ancient teachings in a practical, secular, but lighthearted way that are realistic and easy to begin practicing. This course will also help show you how to begin your own consistent home practice. This is one course you won't want to miss!

 

NEW YEAR NATURAL DETOX – WINTER                                                                            FEE: $30

Feeling like you overdid over the holiday season?  Looking for some easy recipes to reboot your metabolism, ease digestion and dissolve cravings?  No need for extreme, bland or punishing diets.  Join Natural Foods Chef and Holistic Nutrition Coach, Christine Okezie, for an informative and hands on cooking class and try some easy delicious recipes to lighten up your everyday eating and give your body what it needs to feel balanced and energized in the New Year. I'll be sharing a simple menu of detoxifying smoothies, salads, soups and snacks. Menu is gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian.   Registrants will receive shopping list and recipes in advance.  Virtual: In our virtual class you can cook along with me at home or you can watch and take notes.
